Taypiplaya is a remote mountain village in the Southeastern corner of the Caranavi Province that produces coffee alongside rice, papaya, bananas, maize, and avocados at the junction of the Cordillera Real with the Amazon rainforest. Grown at slightly higher elevations than other coffees from Caranavi, Taypiplaya exudes brilliant blood orange and citrus characteristics enriched with creamy caramel and toffee notes with supreme picking and sorting of not only Caturra and Catuai, but also the hardier Typica varietals. A bolstered infrastructure since forming the Asocafe cooperative has not only boosted quality, but also prices for the distinct coffees from Taypiplaya. In addition to excellent cultivation, processing the coffees at the Rodriguez Family Moon Mill in La Paz ensures consistency and sorting of the highest quality. Taypiplaya was an unexpected and wonderful discovery to add into our lineup for the year complimenting and diversifying the flavors of coffees we purchase from South America.
