Anasora is a privately owned communal wet mill. It began as a remote farm of about 150 hectares of coffee in the nearby area, alongside the river Turo. Until 2018, they only produced natural coffees on the farm. To produce washed coffees, they took the cherries to another washing station called Adola. They built their own washing station in 2018, and now this river is used as a water source. It facilitates the processing of washed coffee at the Anasora washing station for cherries that come from outgrowers as well as the farm.
Israel Degfa is a young businessman with more than 30 washing stations in Ethiopia. Isreal’s washing stations sit, for the most part, at high altitudes close to harvest locations. To maintain quality standards, Israel has invested in a modern warehouse and dry mill in Addis.
Anasora is a light and bright coffee that has a distinct jasmine aroma. It begins with a vanilla bean powder taste followed by a strong sweet kiwi tone, with hints of Magnolia Oolong.
