In consideration of the diversity of all the departments in Colombia, none is more known for excellent coffee than Huila in the Southwest. It is always blooming, and each individual microclimate can be attributed its quality, however, it is truly the work of the producers who meticulously harvest ripe, red cherries during those months along with a refined beneficio. In the past few years impeccable timing and access to the rural municipalities east of Nevado del Huila of Santa Maria and Palermo has opened doors for new discoveries and a dialogue to increase the infrastructure necessary for producing specialty coffee.

Alfredo Gomez has been producing coffee for over two decades on finca Villa Hermosa. The seven hectare farm dates back to 1940, when his grandfather first purchased the land. Alfredo has been around coffee cultivation his entire life and wholeheartedly believes in the value of his product. This single caturra varietal lot represents outstanding cherry selection, processing, and drying through aromatics of black currants, honey, and almonds that opens to a balanced cup with a hit of navel orange, cinnamon spice, and a lingering baker's chocolate finish
