Description

It's been four seasons since we had the pleasure of offering coffee from the Ozolotepec community, and we couldn't be more excited for it's return to the menu! This is a classic Oaxaca profile and a true everyday coffee, like a candy bar in a cup. With a nuance of warm spice and a long sweet finish, it's an excellent profile to welcome the colder weather.

Background

Land and processing equipment in San Juan Ozolotepec is shared amongst producers in this community. Each farmer manages 1-5 hectares of space and some travel more than 2 hours to reach their plot. This makes collection challenging and inconsistent year to year, so we always feel fortunate to acquire these coffees when they are available.

With 16 distinct indigenous groups and cultures alone (many of which grow coffee), the region is incredibly diverse from an environmental, climatic, and social perspective. There are so many logistical and cost-of-production challenges here, but that’s what excites and drives us to invest in the region and it's producers. These are vibrant, delicious, sweet, sessionable coffees that seem to disappear from your cup because they go down so easily.
